To commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Toronto Public Library and the City of Toronto are hosting a hybrid event, “Creating an Accessible Future: Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities,” on Thursday, November 30.

We invite you to join us virtually or in-person to hear from our distinguished panelists on their vital work in digital and physical accessibility.

Event Description

This panel discussion will focus on how accessibility in our digital and built environment can shape a more inclusive future that improves the social, psychological and economic well-being of persons with disabilities.

Invitation to attend online event and report launch on 28/11 - Social protection in the Gulf countries: what rights can migrant workers access in practice?

ILO Regional Office for Arab States is launching a comprehensive ILO report on migrant workers’ access to social protection across the GCC countries:

Social protection for migrant workers in countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC):

A regional mapping of provisions on paper and in practice – prepared by ILO, ODI and IOM.

The online event is organized in collaboration with ODI and will take place on Tuesday 28 November, 13:00– 14:15 (GMT)/ 14:00-15:15 (CET). Find out more and register your place here.

The event will convene a high-level panel of experts working on migrant rights in the GCC, to share knowledge on critical policy reforms and advocacy efforts in this space.
